Area Description: Homerville Georgia is a quaint, southeastern town, located approximately 150 miles southwest of Savannah and approximately 29 miles North of the Okefenokee National Wildlife Park in Fargo Georgia. The population of Homerville GA is between 2400 and 2500 persons.

Structural Description: A grand stair case leads to the second floor, and gorgeous Georgia marble is found in the foyer. The living room room or parlor is the perfect place to entertain guests with an afternoon tea. One of three fireplaces is in this room. Heart pine boards throughout, were hand-selected for the flooring and original pine ship lap is found in the library. In addition, there is gorgeous Honduran mahogany trim, accented nicely by the period wallpaper in the dining room. In the study, to the right of the front door, there are pecky cypress walls and bookcases lining the walls.
In the library, there is a wood burning stove and there are 400 volumes, accessible to all guests. Downstairs is one bedroom and full bath. The kitchen is galley style with pine cabinets but opens to the breakfast room which has corner windows, overlooking the pool.
Upstairs, there are 5 guest suites and 4 bathrooms. All bedrooms have 2 year old, Sealy Posturepedic hotel firm mattresses, which the owner has turned after every guest. There are 2 king beds in the “King” and “Duke” rooms and 3 queen beds in the other 3 rooms.
An in-ground pool, hot tub, all American croquet court, and quaint outdoor seating, make Helmstead the perfect place for relaxing after work or vacation adventures.
